Kids Meal Distribution

We will continue to provide bagged, take-away meals, milk and fruit to children in September in Lower Price Hill at State Avenue United Methodist Church.  We distribute these outside and wear masks and follow pandemic protocols.

We get to see many beautiful children and neighbors and hear about how they are doing.  We are fortunate to partner with UMC Food Ministry, the ORV District and many neighbors, friends, partner churches and schools to make this happen.

Note:  Our September schedule has changed to distribute two days per week.

Calling all Tutors and Mentors!! We Need You!!

Want to make a difference in our community? Time to share and care! Sycamore Bridges is seeking virtual tutor or mentor for students in Sycamore Schools. While Sycamore Schools provide phenomenal interventions during the school day, our Church has a role too! We can rally together to support students who need additional support, but do not have the means to access private tutors or learning centers. This has been an unprecedented, challenging, and stressful time for many students, but your help can keep a child in need on track academically.

If you have a special skill set, would like to help with study strategies, or would just like to offer encouragement to a student in need, please use this link (https://www.neighborhoodbridges.org/community/sycamore)  to share your interest with Sycamore Bridges. Once needs arise, you will be contacted directly by a Sycamore staff person. All tutoring and mentoring will be done virtually—Zoom or Facetime!

Please contact Pastor Vicki Robinson if you have any questions!

We will be collecting items for Wesley Chapel Mission Center this June! The green collection bin is at the Sanctuary Door. The items requested are listed below:

Cincinnati Cares have changed their website in response to the COVID epidemic and have made it possible for nonprofits to post stories of impact from the crisis as well as the loss of revenue and volunteer hours. As many nonprofits are looking to virtual volunteer engagement, we have added a Ways to Help Now section and Items Needed Now section to the site so people who are looking to volunteer or donate items are easily able to do so. This is a great way to give back during this challenging time.

Here are some examples of remote ways to help that nonprofits posting on the Cincinnati Cares website:

  • Proofreading or copy writing for newsletters, social media posts, and other communications

  • Creating social media content

  • Writing thank-you notes or making thank you calls to donors

  • Writing thinking of you notes to clients

  • Doing online research and writing reports

  • Writing a press release

  • Reviewing a training curriculum

How YOU can help NOW!

  • Give time and talent both virtually and in-person

    • Find and connect with virtual and in-person ways to help the causes that matter most to them.

  • Provide needed items

    • Discover and provide items needed by organizations serving causes important to them.

  • Make donations to a nonprofit right through the website

    • Discover and donate directly to nonprofits and response fund campaigns in our community without any platform fees.

Make a Difference NOW:

  • CALL your Neighbors, Friends and Family:

    • start with those that are around you by calling and checking in. We are all in this together. Ask if they need help, listen, and then pray with them and for them.

  • SEND cards and well wishes to those isolated

    •  Twin Lakes Senior Living Community, located close to Church of the Saviour, welcomes letters and cards sent to their residents.  Although we do not have specific names, cards and letters received at Twin Lakes will be distributed to residents and hopefully bring a smile to their faces.  Children may want to draw pictures to send also!
