SERVE THE COMMUNITY

  • Contactless Thermometers x 4

  • Pop up Canopies x 8

  • 2 Gallon Water Jugs x 8

  • Picnic Tables x 4

  • Clear Shower Curtain liners x 30

  • Rugs 10x10 - 15x15

  • Stamps

  • Address Labels- Avery 5160 (1" x 2 5/8") white

  • Copy Paper

  • Staple Removers

  • Hand Sanitizer

  • Disinfecting Wipes

  • Paper Plates

  • Disposable Cups

  • Paper Towels

  • Bleach

  • Disposable Forks

  • Disposable Spoons

  • Disposable Divided Plates

  • Toilet Paper

On the items that are highlighted, we only need a certain number. I think what may be easiest is that if anyone wants to donate those items, they should contact the office at wcmcoffice@fuse.net so that we don't end up with to many. I'm not sure that it's a huge concern, however.

Are you interested in volunteering this summer? WCMC need 8 adult volunteers each day of summer camp.

cincinnati cares

Cincinnati Cares have changed their website in response to the COVID epidemic and have made it possible for nonprofits to post stories of impact from the crisis as well as the loss of revenue and volunteer hours. As many nonprofits are looking to virtual volunteer engagement, we have added a Ways to Help Now section and Items Needed Now section to the site so people who are looking to volunteer or donate items are easily able to do so. This is a great way to give back during this challenging time.

Here are some examples of remote ways to help that nonprofits posting on the Cincinnati Cares website:

  • Proofreading or copy writing for newsletters, social media posts, and other communications

  • Creating social media content

  • Writing thank-you notes or making thank you calls to donors

  • Writing thinking of you notes to clients

  • Doing online research and writing reports

  • Writing a press release

  • Reviewing a training curriculum

How YOU can help NOW!

  • Give time and talent both virtually and in-person

    • Find and connect with virtual and in-person ways to help the causes that matter most to them.

  • Provide needed items

    • Discover and provide items needed by organizations serving causes important to them.

  • Make donations to a nonprofit right through the website

    • Discover and donate directly to nonprofits and response fund campaigns in our community without any platform fees.

serve in place

As our world continues to navigate through uncharted waters, local organizations are hard at work to ensure all people are cared for, and we need YOU! Serve in Place was created to bridge individuals, families, groups, and churches with community organizations to serve locally as a way to love our neighbors and seek God through this time. As we serve the people of Cincinnati we will still stay in guidelines of safety for our volunteers and those we are serving.

Serve in Place Cincinnati will introduce you to various local organizations, Cincinnati neighborhoods, and ways to serve. Our hope is that you will develop an ongoing connection and continue serving with the local organization that intersects with your interests, skills, and passions. Taking time to process your experience, self-evaluate, and imagine the future will help you discover where God is leading you to serve and use your gifts. Below you will find tools to reflect on your serving experiences. These connections and relationships not only transform your community, but will transform your life as well!

  • We are distributing shelf-stable meals, which are provided by another nonprofit, UMCFoods Ministry.  The meals include shelf-stable milk and fruit. No need to bring anything besides yourself.  Gloves, masks and hand sanitizer are available onsite, although feel free to bring your own.

  • You are helping by your care - coming out and helping greet people, serve and distribute the food.  Many people are coming together to make this happen and to care for one another! Location: State Ave. UMC 690 State Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45204

  • NOTE: We are following Governor DeWine's orders and all meals will be picked up outside the church by children to be taken offsite to eat.  This way children receive the meals and nutrition but we observe social distancing to reduce risks as the pandemic continues.
