The writer-director of the film, the Rev. Noel Julnes-Dehner, will be at the event. Two of the police officers who work with the Off the Streets program may also attend.

Sr. High Retreat Dates

On Friday, January 12th we are traveling to Columbus for some winter fun on our Sr. High Retreat, and we’ll return home in the afternoon on Sunday, January 14th . Registration isn’t open for this trip just yet, but all students in grades 9-12 are invited, so mark your calendars now and watch for more information!

Sr. High Mission Trip Award Follow-Up

This summer, a mission team of senior high students and adult leaders from Church of the Saviour traveled to Wesley Woods Summer Camp in Northwest Pennsylvania to serve the camp and do some repair work on their facilities as they continued to serve campers and show them the light of Jesus. As a result of our service, they’ve awarded us as their Volunteer Group of the Year!

Dave Smith and his wife, Sharon, traveled to accept this award on behalf of the students and the church. (USE PICTURE OF DAVE WITH THIS)

A note about our new Confirmation class

  • This year, Confirmation class is open to any student in grades 8-12 who have not previously been confirmed. We plan to look at our Methodist roots and what that means for us as Methodist Christians today. We will also explore our faith in an effort to answer the foundational questions of what it means to really follow Jesus.
  • Class will meet Sunday afternoons from 3-4:30 beginning January 7th, and we will meet almost every week until Confirmation Sunday on May 6th. We will also have a retreat later in the fall to start the groundwork for our Confirmation journey this year. We ask that if you choose to participate in Confirmation, you make the class a priority and make an effort to attend every class session and event you are able.
  • If you are interested in participating in Confirmation this year, or if you would like additional information about the class, please email or see Jayk Hinze.

Pumpkin Patch

This October, we’re hosting some fun events in our annual Pumpkin Patch that appears on our front lawn each October. These events will be fun for the whole family – people of all ages are invited to join us as we fellowship together as a community.

Pumpkin Delivery – Saturday, October 7 @ 8am

  • The pumpkins are coming! Join the youth in unloading a few truckloads of pumpkins for our annual youth Pumpkin Patch fundraiser. Breakfast will be provided for all who show up, and everyone is welcome – even if you’re not a youth! Please rsvp to this event by emailing Jayk Hinze at

Movies in the Patch – Fridays, October 13, 20, 27 @ 6:30pm

  • After the pumpkins arrive, we’re going to have a weekly Friday night movie showing in the pumpkin patch for kids and families from 6:30-8:30pm! Bring a blanket or lawn chair and a friend to relive some seasonal classics that are sure to be fun for the whole family. Oh, and we’ll bring the popcorn! October 13th is a special Kids Night at the Patch, and the whole family (and friends!) is invited on the Oct. 20 and Oct. 27.

Tooth-Thirty Treat Parade – Sunday, October 29 @ 2:30pm

  • On Sunday afternoon, all kids Fourth Grade and UNDER And their parents are invited to come in costume to our treat parade in the Pumpkin Patch! The event starts at 2:30 and kids will have a whole hour to collect as much candy as they can from the different booths that will be set up around the Patch.
  • The youth are manning some of these candy stations, but we need your help! We’re looking for folks who are interested in hosting a booth at the treat parade on the 29th. You can decorate as you’d like, and you’ll need to provide your own candy. Let Jayk know if you plan to help so he can register you for a spot!
