Peace House

Town Hall Meetings

The Servant Leadership Board hosted two Town Hall meetings in January with great success.  Thank you to everyone who joined us in the chapel to hear the vision, receive information, ask questions, and give feedback.

Throughout the last ten years, leadership at Church of the Saviour have had conversations about the need for a counseling center on our campus.  These conversations have ramped up over the last few years, because the need in the community is too great to ignore, and it has become clear it is time to act.

This is when the vision for the Peace House was born.  God has given us hearts to be and to make disciples for Jesus Christ, and one of the ways to be a disciple is to serve the needs of those around us.

In 2017, when the parsonage was no longer being used as a house for a pastor and their family, the Servant Leadership Board made the decision to cease being in the parsonage business.  We want to transform this into ministry space.  We want this house to be a place for people to gather.  A place for counsel.  A place for groups.  A place for prayer.  And a place for fellowship.  We are calling this space the Peace House.

Peace House will be a shared space.  Church of the Saviour will invite Basset Psychological Services to rent space in order to provide counseling services. Basset offers comprehensive psychological treatment and assessment of children and adolescents and their families in a warm friendly environment.  In addition to counseling services, we will provide Life Groups that will encompass grief, anxiety, depression, and other needs in the community.  This house is truly a place to find peace.

A place to gather.
A place for counsel.
A place for groups.
A place for prayer.
A place for fellowship.

What is next:

Servant Leadership will continue to work through all of the questions and feedback received at our town hall meetings.  There is still much work to be done and more feedback to be received.  You can continue to find information in our Circuit Rider, bulletin insert, and on our website.  We will host Town Halls once a month, in order to keep current information out in front of the congregation and gather needed material and responses.  Our next Town Hall will be February 25 at 2:00 pm.

We are very excited about adding Peace House to our campus and we invite you to join in on the conversation.

In Christ,
