Musicians from Church of the Saviour and Hyde Park Community UMC are joining together for Advent Vespers, an evening worship entitled Waiting for Joy. The service is offered at both churches: 7:00 pm on December 7, 2024, at Hyde Park and 5:00 pm on December 8, 2024, at Church of the Saviour. You're invited to join for one or both.
Vespers is an ancient tradition of prayer at the onset of dusk, and our adaptation of this service gives worshipers the opportunity to step back from the busyness of the season and focus on the journey toward Christmas. Vespers includes spoken narratives along with musical offerings from the 60-voice combined choir, handbell choirs from both congregations, brass choir, and organ.
