The mission of Youth Council is to serve Church of the Saviour’s ministry for youth from junior high through college age. The council works closely with the Youth Director to plan, organize and offer programs that invite youth in our community to develop their faith and grow through fellowship, small groups and service to others. The council is composed of adult volunteers with a passion for youth ministry and generally meets on the evening of the first Tuesday of the month. Some general areas of focus are: - Fundraising for service projects and the annual Youth summer mission. This includes planning and support for the Fall Pumpkin patch, which has become an icon outreach event to the community. There are also a few other fundraisers over the year that the Council coordinates.
- Help plan and organize major youth fellowship or outreach activities. Some examples are the annual ski trips, Church-wide community events such as the Breakfast with the Easter Bunny and the Senior Recognition Breakfast. The council also helps the Youth Director in finding volunteers for ongoing youth program activities.
- Working with the Youth Director on planning and coordination of the annual summer Mission trip for Senior High and Junior High youth.
- Work with the Youth Director on identifying and recruiting adults to serve as Sunday school teachers or small group leaders.
