In recognition of Jesus' commandment to love our neighbors as
ourselves and by his divine guidance, the Social Justice Purpose Group
will seek to provide educational resources, forums, encouragement,
responsiveness, and opportunities to work on issues of social,
political, and economic justice affecting society.
This ministry group lives out their purpose in a number of practical
ways.
For example, the purpose group offers classes studying the
United Methodist Social Principles at various times through the year,
promotes congregational participation in the Amos Project (a city wide
effort by churches of various denominations to challenge unjust
structures in Cincinnati), and offers other avenues for Christians to
make a positive witness for the Kingdom of God.
If you would like more information on the ministry of this group, or would like to participate, please contact the chair,
Bruce Burns.
We are one in the Spirit. Let us embrace one another.
